We can now announce that there will be a follow-up consultation event on 27th March 2024, from 4pm to 7pm, at the Wellcroft Bowling Club. This will be a ‘drop-in’ type event.

The Community Council is one of the members of this working group which brings together local groups, stakeholders, Council officers and Councillors to have a joint approach in tackling issues and projects concerning Queens Park.

There is a proposal to have a Development Plan for the park . This will identify existing uses and sites to be retained or enhanced and a maintenance plan. It will also identity new uses or activities and potential sites for these, again with outline capital costs and a maintenance plan. Specific sites and issues which must be addressed include: Queen’s Park
Glasshouse, the Pond area, Queen’s Park Arena, the Scottish Poetry Rose Garden,
play and sports areas, plus community facilities such a toilets, cafes and related
activities. The plan should include Queen’s Park Recreation Ground and its
associated amenities.

Last year the QPWG conducted a survey of local views on the park. The results of this will shortly be shared.
