Saturday 3rd Feb, 11.30-13.30, Queenspark Govanhill Church, 170 Queens Drive, G42 8QZ

This event is now past (see video above) .We had good discussions last Saturday at our Democracy Matters Community Brunch where we looked at how local governance could be more representative , involve local people more and reflect what the community wants. You can still take part in the consultation on this subject – follow this link https://www.gov.scot/publications/democracy-matters-phase-2-consultation-local-governance-review/
We will shortly be starting to work towards a ‘Local Place Plan’ for our area. Watch this space for more details 🤩

What do you think local democracy should be about ?

The Scottish Government wants to know how people across Scotland feel about local democracy & how we can have more of a say in civic life.

Read more about that here

Join members of your community councils to talk about how local communities can be more involved in developing and running services in the area.

Meet members of Shawlands & Strathbungo and Langside, Battlefield & Camphill community councils, and find out what we do.

Meet other local residents and enjoy a delicious free brunch! What better way is there to spend a Saturday morning? We look forward to meeting you there.
